Welcome!

St. Stephen's United Methodist Church is a community of Christians at different stages in their spiritual journeys. We are bound by a common need to worship, praise, and serve our Lord.

Our mission is to reach out to all individuals and help each other grow spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Blessing the Animals

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Do you have a pet?  What kind do you have?  A dog? Cat? Horse? Cow? Bird? Ferret? Hamster? Gerbil? Lizard? Snake? Spider?  Another kind not mentioned?  Would like to have them blessed by the pastor? On Sunday afternoon, September 26th at 3:00 we will have a Blessing the Animals service on the front lawn of the church (near the church sign.)    A Blessing of Animals service witnesses to God’s and the Church’s love, care and concern for creation.  The service is a way in which we recognize the fact that all creatures are God’s and that we have a responsibility to care for all creatures on earth.

Even if you don’t have a pet, plan on coming to this special service.  It will be fun and a joy to give thanks to God for the gift of animals.  We do ask that dogs be on leashes and that adults help children who bring their pets.
